Australian Actress Rebecca Gibney Supports Share The Dignity

We are so excited to announce that Rebecca Gibney, one of Australia’s most beloved and respected actresses is now Sharing the Dignity as our Patron.   Rebecca is supporting us through awareness raising of our charitable activities.  She joins Mia Freedman, Hayley Lewis, Tina Harris and Monique Murphy to help us spread the word!

How Rebecca Gibney and Share the Dignity Will Work Together

Share the dignity ensures that everyone is afforded the Dignity in life that so many of us take for granted.
Our collection drives in April and August give women access to the basic of necessities like pads and tampons.  Most of all, everything we do has a real impact on women in need.
At our It’s In The Bag Christmas appeal,  everyday women fill a pre-loved handbag with life’s necessities. They give sanitary items, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, soap, deodorant (and whatever else you decide to put in the bag is only determined by your bag size, imagination and budget).  We give these bags to women at Christmas time when they would otherwise not receive a gift at all.  Most noteworthy, the dignity and joy they bring to women continues to bring tears to our eyes.  We do on-the-ground work. Share the Dignity proudly “just gets stuff done”.  Rebecca Gibney supports us.  She believes in the “just get it done” attitude of Share the Dignity.

Rebecca Gibney, we are delighted that you’re working with us!

Monique Murphy Olympian Monique Murphy, Olympian

Monique Murphy is proof that dreams do come true.  Her life long dream was to swim for Australia. As a result, Monique did just that.  She represented Australia at the 2015 Glasgow IPC World Championships and at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.  She competed in four events in Rio. Monique won Silver in the 400m Freestyle.  Consequently, Monique’s famous for doing herself and Australia proud!

Monique’s commitment to kids

Monique believes most of all, that the sporting world teaches children skills they can apply to any life endeavour.  It’s vital for children who aim to become elite athletes as much as those who just engage in social sport.  Sport provides a possibly life-changing sense of accomplishment, pride and  confidence. It encourages friendships, builds community and can act as a escape from daily pressures.  Furthermore, Monique brings a strong sense of community belonging and a belief that dignity is a right for all. Finally, Monique is passionate about seeing an end to homelessness and family violence.
